GASBAGS (Great Ayton & Stokesley Biking & Guzzling Society) cycle round the Outer Hebrides from May 29th to June 4th 2010. We cycled over 200 miles from Barra to South Uist to Benbecula to North Uist to Harris and finally Stornoway in Lewis. Our return trip was by minibus from Stornoway to South Uist then cycling the last 22 miles to Lochboisdale. The weather was excellent with rain on only one day. The wind kept away the midges and we had no midge bites! Everyone we met was very friendly. It was a really enjoyable trip – the Outer Hebrides is well worth a visit. Thanks to Third Sector Lewis for transport for ourselves plus our bikes from Stornoway to Leverburgh, and to Aldas Taxis for transport from Berneray to South Uist
