Aer Arann ATR72-500 aircraft in the special Celtic Rings “triskels” livery. Filmed in Galway, Cork, London Luton & London City Airports. One of the aircraft, EI-REO was only days old when captured at Galway Airport, Carnmore Ireland in 2008 sporting the distinctive Aer Arann special paint scheme. On 21 Feb 2010 EI-REO was still looking resplendent at London City Airport. Days later, I flew on the same aircraft to Galway Airport and at that time, 19th March 2010 it was in Aer Lingus Regional colours.

@iRow2010 Hi iRow2010 thanks a lot for taking time to comment, I appreciate it. Moreover, I agree with you, that Celtic Rings livery was dead smart, hope they paint their existing fleet with something striking soon!

Aer Arann definitly had the best livery with the ”Celtic Rings” on any ATR aircraft!

@eibib Hi eibib thanks for your comment. I remember years ago must have been around 1992 or there abouts I flew to Galway on Ryanair ATR and parked there was a Aer Lingus F27/F50. It’s good the way Aer Arann hve build a good regional business, but it’s nice to see other liveries from time to time. Not sure if the 72 will be at Galway any more as its been moved to Dublin.

Great vid. Never thought I’d be seeing the Aer Lingus livery in EICM (Carnmore) again!! C’est la vie! Tough times call for tough decisions.

@BIASpotter Hi BIASpotter, thanks for your comment. The ATR does look smart alright, but I hope Aer Arann doesn’t lose it’s identity. Maybe they could come up with something equally striking for any new planes they get

@daluifh331 Hi daluifh331 thanks for taking time to comment. Aer Lingus haven’t spent any money on this arrangement. Aer Arann are paying Aer lingus a fee for using the branding. Aer Arann also continue their own regional routes to and within Ireland, it’s just the routes to Aer Lingus hubs at Dublin and Cork that have been branded Aer Lingus Regional. Thanks again.

really like the AL Regional scheme but I think AL are trying to sort of buy out RE.

Another top class production!

@Irishcurls123 The service is managed & staffed by Aer Arann (RE). Some RE aircraft have been painted into Aer Lingus (EI) colours. As part of this “branding” the RE crew will wear EI uniforms. I understand, money goes to RE first as they run the business. But, as they are buying the right to use EI colours & brand RE will have to use some of the money it makes to pay a fee to EI. RE will make money if the amount taken per flight less the fee to EI leaves a profit. At least that’s how I read it!

I wanted to know, if Aer Lingus Crew will opperate these flights or will Aer Arann crew. And also does the passangers money go to Aer Lingus or Aer Arann
