@AoifeL93 Aoife maybe you ought to read up on the Irish constitution which states that the Irish republic be officially known as Ireland in English and Éire in Irish. Just as many(myself included) will use Ireland to refer to the whole island of Ireland, many will also use Éire in the same way. But the Republic is officially known as Éire, not Stáit na hÉireann.
