My friend likes fairies and generally fairy tales, and she likes movies like Pan’s Labyrinth, The Chronicles of Narnia or the Spiderwick Chronicles…She also liked Igor, The Tale of Despereaux and Bolt..
She also liked Push and series like ‘Heroes’…
I just want to give her a movie from the DVD club as a surprise and I don’t know what to do…
Do you know any movies that are similar to this kind of films?

i know this sounds totally queer but The Magical Legend of the Leprechans is really good if you like those kinds of movies..also the Bridge to Terebithia is awesome even if it is kinda kiddy, X Men is good if she likes heroes

The Last Mimzy is sooo good and soo cute and it’s magical. Definitely watch it even if you decide not to buy it.

Photographing Fairies (1997) One of the most beautiful. lyrical and moving movies about fairies I have ever seen.
Photographer Charles Castle is numbed with grief following the death of his beautiful bride. He goes off to war, working in the trenches as a photographer. Following the war and still in grief Charles is given some photographs purporting to be of fairies. His search for the truth leads him to Burkinwell, a seemingly peaceful village seething with secrets where he becomes drawn into a web of passion, romance and violence..
    Poignant and unforgettable.

    Also try……………. Fairy Tale – A True Story (1997)
Two children in 1917 take a photograph, believed by some to be the first scientific evidence of the existence of fairies. Based on a true story.

There are many good movies in that genre. I would recommend:
    – The Secret of Roan Inish (1995) about a selkie.
    – Ladyhawke (1985) a romantic fairytale.
    – The Princess Bride (1987) a hilarious romantic fairytale
    – Willow (1988) a fun fantasy adventure
    – The Dark Crystal (1982) a wonderful Jim Henson production!
    – The NeverEnding Story (1984) about a boy who has to save the magical empire of Fantasia from the Nothing
    – Stardust (2007) an amazing Neil Gaiman story w/ love and adventure
