@BugsymcCormick perhaps but that was not my point, my point was if we talk about the biggest languages, or more spoken languages coming from latin then we have or should refer Portuguese. Spanish in first (500 million people), Portuguese in second (255 million), French in third (200 million) and then Italian (62 million). But whatever Im out of this subject.

@PortugueseRedMoon
(Vulgar) Latin left behind around 25 languages

For such an interesting video, it’s a pity that what could be an equally interesting comment/discussion section is dominated by two wankers having a pointless argument.
[Translate]
@PortugueseRedMoon No, they don’t, just illiterate faggots like you. And you’re right, I can’t say hello in Portuguese, I have no need to learn a single word of that throat infection you call Portuguese. And the only reason Portuguese has so many speakers is that humongous wart Brazil.

@NewYorkFlavour omg.. just su, everyone types like in comments and post online. Plus is funny ur telling me to learn english when i bet u cant even say hello in Portuguese. And for ur information, Portuguese importance in the world is so small that is number 7 most spoken languages in the world, infront of French (9) and also Italian (24). So I stand by what i said, this video fails not mentioning Portuguese. Now im out of this conv cause its becoming ridiculous.

@PortugueseRedMoon Also, distinguish “its” and “it’s”. “It’s” is a contraction of it and is. “Its” is a third-person possessive pronoun. Also, “your”, not “ur”, you type like a fourteen year old girl on her cellphone. Also it’s “don’t”, not “dont”, “dont” isn’t a word, “don’t” is a contraction of do and not. Also, it’s “meant” not “ment”, “meant” comes from “to mean”. Latin should be capitalized. Also, for your last sentence, it’s “THESE five languages”. Learn English : ]

@PortugueseRedMoon I understand my language perfectly fine. When you make a list, pause, and then say “oh there’s another. Romanian is Latin too. what a fail : )”, any English speaker would read that piece of text, and assume you are being condescending by hesitating, and then saying, oh, there’s another too. You obviously, through your lack of fluency with the language, conveyed an unintentional air of condescension to Romanian.

@NewYorkFlavour LOL its a problem when u dont understand ur own language, what i said was “and there is one other”. To resume and to make it very simple, what i ment was latin originated 5 languages and not 3, the “what a fail” was to the program and not to the language. This 5 latin languages are Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese and Romanian.
[Translate]
@PortugueseRedMoon Romanian, you took a potshot at Romanian, saying it’s “the other one” and “what a fail”. I find it ironic that someone who speaks such a nasal, whiney, lazy language would actually criticize another. I will say one thing though. The Brazilians talk worse than the Portuguese. Brazilian Portuguese is probably my least favorite language in existence. You all should just start speaking Spanish, it’s a cooler language.

@PortugueseRedMoon when did I*
[Translate]
@NewYorkFlavour lol i will not answer ur idiot and senceless provocation. Anyways when didnt I, in my comment criticize a language?
[Translate]
@PortugueseRedMoon Hilarious. You realize that out of Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese, that Portuguese is nearly universally considered the weakest link? I find it funny that you are criticizing another language, when the one you speak is one of the most hideous in existence.

correction: “Latin disappeared as a spoken language, yet it left behind 4 great languages that became modern Spanish, French, Italian AND PORTUGUESE, and actually there is one other. Romanian is latin too. what a fail

The narrators speak soo slowly!!
[Translate]
lmao! i have a degree in english literature. this would be interesting stuff, but these narrators are KILLING me–so boring.

But besides that, I don’t see how making a typing error invalidates my observations on this video. Once again, nothing personal, I know you’re not responsible for the content.

I understand that, I’m just making observations on the video, I’m not blaming you for anything, I just think people should be told the whole story when it comes to history, this is mainly because I’ve had to cross reference all of the many books I’ve read on these and other subjects to get a full picture of everything.
Oh, sorry for that, sometimes when I’m quickly double checking my grammar I miss things, that line is an accident, it comes from watching the keys while I type.

First of all, I didn’t write the video. It was posted by me for my Brazilian students of English. The audio is from VOA (Voice of America) Special English. I only put images to it. And, secondly, you wrote, “but if that’s long…” It should be, “but if it’s that long…” Thanks and good luck.

Hey, guy, I didn’t write the text to the video. It’s from VOA Special English. I only put pictures to it. Also, it’s “but if it’s that long…”

dude this skips so much information, when you begin listing languages that are from groups you should finish listing all the languages in the group, unless the list is like 20+ languages long, but if that’s long you should at least imply if not state the immensity of the group.
