The Duke of Edinburgh award is given to young people (usually 14 to 25) after they have achieved a number of activities. How well regognised is this by employers?

This is a very prestigious award. Anyone getting this award is truely special. When putting this as an acheivement on your resume definatly stands out from the rest.

Well I’ve completed the bronze award although i haven’t received the certificate yet…
My teachers have said it’s very very valuable to employers, and if you do silver and gold- even more valuable. I didn’t continue it to silver as i found it ‘wasn’t’ for me, so I did SVP instead (a volunteering scheme for young people, and you get an award for it too. It’s for a year, and so far I’ve enjoyed it a lot more than DofE. However it’s not a recognized. If you go a catholic school, there’s a chance they’ll do it, or even a regular school too)
I might do gold in sixth form, but see what my life is up to. But if you have the chance, GO for it.
