Hey okay i need to know a bit about English history and there are a lot of books out there. I need one that you could probably find at a library and isn’t too specific. like A general overview of English history not something that only talks about the 1700s.

You can’t do better than Winston Churchill’s History of the English Speaking Peoples. It’s a long one, but you could just read the parts that interest you.
