King Charles was the best monarch i think. Maybe i think this because after the rule of Oliver Cromwell, Charles brought England more gaiety and colour into England.

@princebonniecharlie Agreed. OFF WITH HIS HEAD!!!!

  • Marzipancat:

This is an interesting monologue. Considering that it is only a little over 6 minutes long, of course there will be things left out and simplifications. However, I’m disappointed that they don’t show more of Stuart’s portrait figures. They are truly astounding!

    get your Dates Correct.
    the Restoration was in 1660

This dude fails to realise that many of Charles’ powers were restored and INCREASE. Granted prerogative taxes remianed illegal and so he did rely on parliament for finance majorly for the early years of his reign yet from a power perspective it was increased. The press was censored in 1662, an Act against Tumultuous petitioning passed in 1661 and the Triennial Act was weakend in 1664. . Parliament gave him this absolutist stipulation back with the Militia Acts of 1661 and 1662

princebonniecharlie you are wrong he was proclaimed king of sccots in 1649 and was crowned on new years day 1650 or 51 and fought a campaign against cromwell and was forced out of the country and was not king of england until 1660

  • princebonniecharlie:

1:51 – “1650 Charles returned to England and was proclaimed King” – It was 1660. This is inexcusable. Still I like the delivery on the whole.

The only thing I don’t like about this guy is he goes on and one about some stuff, but totally ignores others. He also makes really gross generalizations. His movies are entertaining, but I mean come on did he mention hardly any ov the events during his reign? Nope, and plenty happened. He went on half the video about him moving to England, I mean come on the guy reigned like 40 years find something else.

  • Greenstonetiki:

Just to get the relations down, King Charles II is related to King George I because King Charles I was King George I’s Maternal Great Uncle on the mother’s side. Have a guess what that means okay ;).

  • papalosopher:

To all who watch this video: This is a tremendous oversimplification. Consider only the broad strokes about what he’s saying.
