I’m planning to study abroad somewhere in the UK next Spring, and I’d narrowed it down to two cities and two universities: Cardiff U, and University of Glasgow.

I was wondering what’s a better overall city to live/study in? I know it depends on tastes so for example: I like Boston better than I like NYC in terms of cities.
I was also wondering which one is the most unique looking in comparison to NYC?
Thanks in advance!

I am Irish living in Dublin but I am a British citizen and have a British passport because my mother was born there.

I want to go to university there so how do I get in? I would like an arts degree with maybe English and History. The system is different in Ireland than in the UK they don’t have the leaving cert in UK like they do in Ireland.

So how would I get in? Would I have to go for interviews or something?

Entry from: Galway, Ireland Entry Title: “Exploring and Starting the “Study” of Study Abroad” Entry: “9/11/10 WENT TO THE CLIFFS OF MOHER AND THE BURREN! So, so cool. The scenery was unbelievable. Our tour guide was a little Irish man named Desmond and quite the character. We saw Dunguaire Castle, The Burren (vast limestone area), Gleninsheen Wedge Tomb, the 5800 year old Poulnabrone Dolmen, Ballyalban Fairy Fort- apparently home to many a leprechaun, Kilfenora to see the famous Celtic Crosses, stopped for lunch at a pub in Doolin after driving through the annual “Matchmaking Festival” in the town of Lisdoonvarna, and then finally arrived at the Cliffs (200 meters high and 8 kilmometers long)! The weather held out for the most part and we had such a great time. We hiked to the top and the view was amazing. On our trip back we drove the shoreline which was beautiful, we could even see the Aran Islands (tentative date for that trip is October 16 with the International Students Society—woo!) in the distance. I really enjoyed the trip, it was great to see some of Ireland outside of Galway. It was a wonderful afternoon…the pictures honestly do not do the Irish landscape justice. I am looking forward to more tours and getting to see some of the surrounding area. Came back, had a quick shower, and got ready

I got accepted to do a study abroad in Ireland through the school. Besides the obvious ways to get money (working extra hours, going through the financial aid office, etc.) what can I do to raise money for this trip? Thanks!

I have taught 3rd grade in Massachusetts for two years and have my master’s degree in elementary education. I don’t know if in order to teach in Ireland I’d need to go through the teaching course again over there. I’ve tried searching online and all I’ve come up with is the teaching program at a couple of universities in Galway and Dublin. Thanks!

All About Teaching Abroad

I plan on studying abroad next year in Scotland, but I’m not sure whether I should go for the Fall/Autumn or Spring semester. I’m interesting in photography, and so plan to take lots of pictures of the scenery. I also want to go see lots of the castles in Scotland. Can anyone who lives in or has visited Scotland give me some feedback on which would be a better time to go? Thank you!
Oh, and should I go to the University of Glasgow or Edinburgh? Thanks!
