The stone keeps changing every so often and I have conflicting information about what stone the true birth stone is?

I am wanting to plan a trip to Scotland December 27 – January 7 and was wondering what the weather is normally like at this time. I am concerned about ice and snow and the risk of flight delays and cancellations. I’ll be flying from the southern US with a connection in Amsterdam and then to Edinburgh. I know last year was really bad with ice and snow in December but have heard that was not the norm. Any advice would be appreciated!
