This years event was filmed by National Geographic TV, and the focus was on the hard hitting jousting!!!! The show will aire very soon in late 2011. The Sonora Celtic Faire takes place over 3 days, one week before St. Patrick’s Day weekend. The 2012 event will take place March 9-11th, at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds in Sonora, Ca.

A medieval or Renaissance fair is like a county fair that has a theme, but no Ferris wheel. The Great Lakes Medieval Faire, located near Rock Creek, Ohio, yearly welcomes about 100,000 visitors over six weekends to its fictional village of Avaloch for live performances, music, shopping and food.

Patrick Michael Karnahan is interviewed about creation of the first Celtic Faire in California. The video was produced by Bret Malley. The interview was made when the Celtic Faire was still located at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds in March of 2006. It was the first year where the festival had almost a foot of snow on the ground. This years festival will be held on March 13-15th at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds in Sonora California (Sierra Nevada Foothills) www.sonoraceltifaire.com
