Barry Island ROck was a documentary filmed in Barry, South Wales. It featured four Barry bands, More Than Passion, No One, The Missing and The Kick Inside. Under the music workshop that was part of The Vale Activity centre, a number of music projects were developed. Working with Valley and Vale Community Arts using all of their video equipment this video was one of the most ambitious. Each band got to help the other bands make their own video for a song. They also helped filming the footage to flesh out the documentary. The resulting footage was then edited by Dave Morse, Joe Parratt and Valley and Valeinto the final documentary (or Rockumentary as it became known). Although most of the musicians involved have continued to make music, albeit it for fun, or for some very much still in the same spirit as back in 1985. Sadly none of the bands went on to achieve wider acclaim. A symptom most definitely of the lack of interest in music from the area that existed back then. Thankfully times have changed dramatically since. To quote the video liner notes: Barry Island Rock – The first ever Rock Documentary video produced by local bands in Barry. Part of a living archive for Barry This project brought together four groups to produce not only a promotional video for each band, but also a document of the social and economic factors which have affected both the town and in turn those who are trying to make a go of producing their own music in it.

I heard some rumours about this. Supposedly it was in the first ever international football match too when Scotland played England.
I havent heard of many (if any) black men playing football for Scotland so I thought this was quite interesting.
This was back in the late 19th century in the FIRST ever international football match.
