I’m writing a book, and have the main character as a siren/selkie. If you don’t know what they are, look it up, please. I’m looking for suggestions on names. I like the names Siren and Selkie just as they are, but I’m also looking for other possibilities, too, like Allure or something. Thanks for your help!
She has dark red hair, dark green eyes, very pale, sickly skin, and is very quiet.
I am writing an urban fantasy novel about faeries and I would like to remain as true to the pre-existing faery folklore as possible – Celtic, Scottish, Welsh, English, etc. I am trying to build a collection of books about faery mythology/foklore and books of general fairy tales to glean some information from.
If anyone knows of any trustworthy books, or websites that contain this sort of information, I’d love to hear about them:)
Also, if any of you are urban/modern fantasy readers, what would you be interested in seeing in a novel like this?
Thanks!
A good friend of mine is fond of saying, “It’s called the Good Luck Knot because people need good luck to tie it”. With all do respect, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Elegantly designed, the knot slides together easily. Video by JD of Tying It All Together
I’m on a quest to learn about my past, and the the only two very predominant nationalities/races i can find are Irish and Shawnee native American.
it’s pretty easy to find and read about Celtic culture and history, but Shawnee is a different story. Does anyone know a good website/book i can look up to learn more? I’m really interested in the COMPLETE history and culture, not just what happened during the whole… europeans are coming over thing.

Recently I’ve been getting more and more into my Irish heritage, but realized to really be into it I need to know more about Ireland in general, from it’s history to it’s geography and culture. So what’s a good book to start with?
what are good universities in the UK for english and history

I am using roses for my bouquet, but want to also use typical greenery from Scotland and Germany-HELP!
I really want to go to Scotland and learn Gaelic in college. I don’t know where would be a good place to go for that. I have looked at some of the private universities and I can’t seem to find a good answer. I’m wanting to do international studies concentrating in western Europe and/or Asia. I want to also learn Japanese. I know you can do that at drake, but I don’t know if they have exchange to Scotland.
Me and my love would like to go to England for our Honeymoon but it’s harder than it looks to find any info.
He wants to see a haunted castle and hang out in an area that’s very arty and has a lot of musicians and I want to see I lot of historical sites and maybe a play or something…..
