The Johnson Brothers Old Britain Castles pattern was introduced as china dinnerware in 1930 and depicts old British castles, such as Cambridge, Dunstable, Exeter, Haddon Hall, Kent, Stratford, and Warwick, in an eighteenth century setting. The Johnson Brothers china began in Stoke-on-Trent, England, in 1882 by brothers Henry, Alfred, and Fredrick, specializing in china dinnerware, tableware, giftware and home accessories. The Johnson Brothers joined Wedgwood in 1968. Today, the Johnson Bros continue to be the manufacturing leader of earthenware.
