Sometimes the heroes of history are truly worthy of the golden reputations they carry. King Alfred united Anglo-Saxon England against a Viking invasion, led the English into battle against the Danish hordes, created a renaissance of literature and the arts, reformed the legal system, and set the stage for a revival of Christian worship. But that’s not what made him great. In “The White Horse King: The Life of Alfred the Great,” Ben Merkle unravels the tale of how a great man came to power during one of the most difficult periods in English history, how he led his nation through them, and how he laid the groundwork for England’s coming triumphs on the global stage.

I have recently been cast in a play created to depict the Welsh history and folklore of Arthur Pendragon. In the cast list I am posted as Arthur’s half sister Igraine. As far as I am aware Igraine was, in fact, Arthur’s mother and Morgan Le Fey was his half sister.

Is there more to the genealogy I’m not aware of, or some story I can’t find on the internet that would help fill in the blanks?

3.Who or what influenced King Henry VIII to break away from Rome and form the Church of England?

Apparently Mac Angus de Moravia was the descendant of King Duncan I of Scotland, so I’m curious to know what the kinship was between the two, as I can’t seem to find it anywhere. (Mac Angus de Moravia has to do with the Scottish clan Murray, they are supposedly his descendants.) Thanks! :)
