Entry from: Rathdrum, Ireland Entry Title: “Ireland Day 13″ Entry: “Ireland Day 13 Well that was an interesting night sleeping in the castle. The beds were very noisy, so every time one of the 20 blokes rolled over their bed squeaked so i woke up! Argh! Anyway, 6am came and the sun was shining in my eyes telling me that it was time to get up, somehow i fought the urge to get up and fell asleep again until about 7. Sore back and tired. Apparently someone in the girls dorm slept with a louder snore than me, so Bec said, so she had even less sleep than Luke and I. Our first visit of the day was to Kilkenny Castle. This castle was handed to the a restoration company for about 50 Pound at around 1960 or 70. They have done a magnificent job at restoring the castle to what its previous likeness would have been. Right down to the finer detail of the rather large toilet to the intricate detail of the long gallery room. We then drove through a series of minor towns for a sneak peak, but the roads are too small and traffic too aggressive to pull in anywhere of interest. So we soldiered on to the next point. Which was Jerpoint Abbey. This was an old church ruin which is in the midst of restoral. However it was still a very impressive and large piece of architecture complete with the grave stones and high Celtic
