We stopped first a short distance away at Urquhart Castle which was once one of Scotland’s largest, but is now a ruin perched on the banks of Loch Ness. Although there’s been a castle on the site since at least 1230, it flipped back and forth into Scottish and English hands during the 11th and 12th centuries and in the process was attacked by both sides. It also played a role in the Scottish struggle for independence and in the 15th and 16th centuries was frequently raided and plundered by western clans. If you have a long English ancestry going back 400+ years of pure white English, son of pure white English parents, grandson of pure born raised in England, going back centuries,

you know you’re not just white and English! It doesn’t work that way.

You are part Angle, Part Saxon, part Jute, Part ancient Briton, and part of the Celts and some of those Celts became Scots and Irish and highlanders who dance with bagpipes and square dance and form labour clans

So you are anciently multicultural. The Celt part of you makes you wonder the green pastures in search of Elderberries. and support highland dances and labour activities.

the Anglo-Saxon Germanic part of you is why you worshipped Kingdoms and now capitalism and the Tories.

And what exactly were the Jutes? These Beowolf Dependent on the Franks who were a Germanic tribe called Euthioness?

The Jutes are the ones who probably gave birth to Margaret Thatcher?
