Consonant sounds all have names (i.e. voiced glottal fricative, etc.), and I need to know the name of the consonant that sounds like ch in loch or bach. This is also the way the Ch in Chanukah is supposed to be pronounced.
I have only seen this drawing once in a book and would love to know what it is or where I can view it online. I have done searches as well and am not having any luck…..so I came to you!

If so, what can you tell me about the history of some Burtons in Wales?
Really difficult to answer considering the commoness of that name, but any info would be awesome?
From what region did they typically come from? What were their usual jobs?

I can’t believe Satanist answered one of MY questions. I feel so honored, so privileged. May I shake your hand, Mr/s. Satanist? Get a hug? Maybe throw a water balloon or two at you?

Thanks, but I didn’t really care for the original OR the Placebo cover. I much preferred the Within Temptation cover.
I’m writing a book, and have the main character as a siren/selkie. If you don’t know what they are, look it up, please. I’m looking for suggestions on names. I like the names Siren and Selkie just as they are, but I’m also looking for other possibilities, too, like Allure or something. Thanks for your help!
She has dark red hair, dark green eyes, very pale, sickly skin, and is very quiet.
I’m looking for anything here, women in celtic beliefs, wicca, paganism, christianity, buddhism, goddess worship…absolutley anything!
Wikipedia states that:
“In Western folklore, it is believed that evil spirits, demons, vampires, trolls, and even Satan are obliged to disappear at dawn, for, being creatures of darkness, they hate light, especially that of the sun. Pre-Christian Celts also shared this belief.[citation needed]
It is for these reasons that females having Dawn as a first or second name signify strength and the ability to fend off evil and protect the human race against vampires and evil trolls. E. Dawn Beattie is an example of such a heroine as illustrated by Anne Rice in her novel, The Vampire Chronicles, Book 6.”
I want to know whether this is accurate, and I haven’t been able to find out despite some research of my part. The article that this information is from didn’t have any sources (Here’s the link to the article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dawn )… which makes me think that someone just made this up.
It is Galician from Nw spain but is does the 0 have something to do with being Irish? Galicia has a strong celtic history
