I used to go to a Scottish Deli and buy Scottish meat pies. I no longer live in that area and have not been able to get them where I live now. They were a a round pastry, about 4 inches across, they had a top crust and a bottom crust and they were filled with a meat mixture.
Does anyone make these from scratch? I would love a recipe so I could enjoy them again.
I used to live in a Scottish neighborborhood where there were several Scottish meat markets. I used to purchase a product called Scotch pies. They were fully cooked, small round tarts (like a pie crust dough) with a meat filling. They had a small hole on the top. I would put them in the toaster oven with a small amount of a beef broth and worchestershire mixture. Has anyone else ever had these? Does anyone have a recipe that is similar? I would love to have them again.
