This summer I plan to make a flour using acorns and, if I’m lucky, a flour out of cattail, so I can mix the two to make a good baking flour. But, I would like to do this while maybe out on a camping trip, and don’t want to drag baking soda with me. I want to know if it’s possible to make maybe a bannock or other bread without baking soda, using just flour and water. Bannocks are an old Scottish food, if I’m not mistaken, and I don’t think they used baking soda at that time. Either way, are there any other good ideas that fit this description? Must be very very simple, able to cook over a campfire, able to obtain all ingredients from nature, and while being easier to cook would be great it doesn’t matter too much.

I am not questioning his historical achievement. My question is about the use of the specific term “freedom” in the film.
