I read that over 1,000 had failed in Ireland and Diageo was now thinking of shutting the Guiness brewery in Dublin. I see a fair number of bars now derelict in Scotland but the evidence is still anecdotal.

I’m 18, and I know that where I’m from in Canada, I can drink, but in the states you have to be 21, what about Scotland and France? Also, is the legal age to enter pubs the same as the drinking age in Scotland? How about France? Thank-you 
My friends and I are Americans saving up money for a trip to Scotland and we’re planning on staying in Glasgow for a few days. We are all in our early-20s and we’d love to make some new friends along the way! Which pubs should we definitely visit? Thanks
