I have tickets for the Street Party in Edinburgh for Hogmanay 2007 2008 but what would you recommend doing after the fireworks? Which pubs and clubs are open that don’t require pre-booking? Many thanks!

Moving to edinburgh with my husband and three small children. We need to be close to uni but we would really appreciate some help finding good schols and areas. Don’t know where to begin!

Can someone please tell me of any Wiccan or Ásatrú bands or singers who sing about either religion and where I could buy or download their albums? I like Celtic Women if that’s helps. I also would prefer rock/metal bands for Ásatrú.

I am very interested in the history of Ulster and Northern Ireland, particularly the last few decades of Protestant vs. Catholic struggle in the country. Could anyone recommend a good source of information, preferably a one-volume book, about this? If I could establish a correspondence with someone about this and have them perhaps help me edit a manuscript over the next few years, that would be amazing. I can’t afford to pay you much–I am only a once-published novelist–but I would like all the assistance on this that I can get. Thank you.

hopefully in a non-biased balanced way

Something quite extensive, from what the Welsh were up to before the English invaded, to whatever the English did to the Welsh. If you know any really good books that only cover part of this time period, that’s fine too. Something unbiased preferably, and interesting.
I know those basics, I am looking for an extensive book, not a webpage.

When and where? Any for which Clan Fie or Clan Young Americans (who don’t know their way about Scotland) might be especially interested?

Thanks in advance; am planning a trip in the next 12 months to visit clients but have much freedom on the schedule and will plan it based on attending the Games.

My niece will be graduating from high school next year and Im making a video slide show for the party. The program I am using will also allow me to set it to music the only problem is i dont know what music to play in the background. Right now there will be 4 sections: Her by herself, Her with her mom, Her with her dad, and Her and her friends. The music i have picked is Gary Allan “Tough little boys”, Maroon 5 “She will be loved”, Lee Ann Womack “I hope you Dance”, Dionne Warwick “Thats what friends are for”, and The Corrs ” So young”. What other songs would you recommend

Not Kids bop or anything like that just old silly fun songs.
I don’t want anything rappy, hip hoppish, r&b ish or anything like that. These kids get enough of that at home, I just want to expose them to different types of fun music from different regions of the world. Reggae, Conga, Brazilian, Celtic whatever.

Something like this, please:
