It is said to grant fearlessness.
I thought that it would be nice to pray to St Columba since my heart is right now lacking that fearlessness…
BUT, I have a small suspicion that the cross is a celtic talisman rather than a religious cross… but I am not sure…
So… do you know? or at least know where I could find out?
By the way, please dont tell me “Dont pray to saints, pray to Jesus” or “Your religion is a scam”
I am Catholic and that is it.

Carlos Núnez (born Vigo, Galicia, [Galiza] 1971) is a Galician musician who plays the gaita, the traditional Galician bagpipe. Nunez was born in 1971 in the city of Vigo and began playing the bagpipes when he was eight years old. In his early teens, he was invited to play with the Festival Orchestra of the Festival Interceltique de Lorient in Brittany. He studied the recorder at the Royal Conservatory in Madrid, Spain, and quickly gained stature as a young virtuoso. He met Paddy Moloney of The Chieftains and performed with the band two years later, becoming referred to as the “7th member” of the band. He appeared on their Grammy-winning Santiago, which focused on Galician music and included other artists such as Los Lobos and Linda Ronstadt. He has become an integral part of the Galician Celtic music scene, and has collaborated with Ry Cooder, Sinéad O’Connor, The Chieftains, Altan and La Vieja Trova Santiaguera. His most renowned album was 1996′s A Irmandade Das Estrelas, which sold an unprecedented 100000 copies, and included collaborations with Nightnoise, Luz Casal, Tino di Geraldo, Tríona Ní Domhnaill and Mícheál Ó Domhnaill, Kepa Junkera, Ry Cooder, The Chieftains, and Dulce Pontes. He has since moved on to including elements of Berber music and flamenco, as well as more pronounced Celtic, especially Breton, influences. On Saturday August 1, 2009 The Illinois Saint Andrew Societys Scottish Home in North Riverside, Illinois was putting on its very special summer picnic. This picnic as always included a special sale with included a collection of variety items. Also there was a bake sale and well as raffles. There was both traditional and non- traditional Scottish Food at the picnic, including meat pies, bridies and sausages and an good ole American fare hamburgers and hot dogs . There was plenty of activities for the wee little ones, including pony rides, crafts for both the young and not so young, miniature golf (a favorite for the picnic as long as I can remember), a bouncy thing for the kids, as well as a variety of games. And the one and only Rudy Kazoodi along with Bubbles were mingling with the crowd, as well as giving tatoos and facing painting.
