in enid blyton’s books the children often go sailing to islands off the north east of scotland, where they have many birds including puffins. is this supposed to be orkney? i can’t find any other islands off the east of scotland.

I know that when applying to England and Scotland you have to limit yourself to 5 universities and you can’t apply to both Oxford and Cambridge. I was wondering, however, if this limit includes Ireland. Does this mean that I can only apply to 5 universities?
Sorry, it might seem like a stupid question but I just need a simple answer rather quickly.
