Celtic Moment

Hello everyone, we are flying to Edinburgh and then travelling to Windermere in the Lake District for a couple of days before returning to Edinburgh and staying there for 4 days.

I was wondering if it is feasible going for day trips from Edinburgh to Windermere or are we better of spending the night in Windermere? How far is it by train from Edinburgh (we are from the US and will not drive)?

I’m writing a book and the year is 1872. How long would it take you to get from Ireland to England?
A rough estimate would be great. I havn’t really set a town/village in Ireland but she is traveling to London. Also it’s a sail boat.

This is truly ridiculous. Visitors are not supposed to know, being from the US, that the English Business establishments will not accept Scotland Pounds. I like it in England, make no mistake, And I am told that they legally cannot refuse Scottish Pounds but they refuse it anyway. Lazy a$$ UK police of course will not intervene. So why do they refuse Scotland Pounds? Does the battle of Bannok Burn (as shown in ‘braveheart’) still rankle?

where can i take celtic studies? Canada and the states are my limit. And a well known college with a premed program. Celtic studies, folklore or mythology courses really, pleaaase help!

I am taking my honeymoon in Ireland in October, and I was curious how long it would take to get from Dublin to Dingle Peninsula? What are must-see sites that we can see in a week? We have 7 days there, and we want to see as much as we can, we arent worried about just relaxing, we are going to spend our trip seeing anything we possibly can. Any suggestions?
