I am planning on going back to Edinburgh for a vacation and would like to know the best time of the year to visit. The last time I went was in March and it was a bit chilly. Any ideas?

Entry from: Edinburgh, United Kingdom Entry Title: “Edinburgh: Beauty and Bagpipes” Entry: “Hey all. After our Swedish adventure, myself and a group of about 12 others travelled to Scotland for the weekend! I wasn’t really involved in planning this trip at all, but I jumped at the opportunity to see Scotland. We left the Castle at 4:30 on Thursday to catch a flight from Dusseldorf Weeze Airport. A few hours later we touched down in Edinburgh. Edinburgh’s coolness is immediately apparent. I’m sorry to dis Kasteel Well, but the Edinburgh Castle is positively magnificent. Set atop a hill in the heart of the city, the Castle can be seen from many places throughout Edinburgh, and it is a pretty awesome reminder in a modern city of how people used to live their lives. Our hostel, the Art Roch Hostel, was no more than a ten minute walk from the Castle, which was cool in and of itself. It also meant that we were in a central location with a lot of pubs and shops near by. Once we dropped our stuff at the hostel, we were all thinking the same thing: food. We were in a pretty large group (some people were actually at a neighboring hostel), so we divided up according to wants. A bunch of us went to a fried food joint down the street from our hostel. London, England travel: London Bus Tour. Lots of famous landmarks visible on this tour. This was a good overview tour of London, and gave us a good idea of where things were in relation to each other.More than a day trip from Thornbury Castle, and certainly worth the travel! (You can view this video, and other travel videos in full-size and near-DVD quality, travel stills and more at www.jpmeyer.com). Thornbury Castle is part of the von Essen Group of hotels, “a private collection of individual country house hotels in the UK, each with a distinctive style and character of its own” according to www.vonessenhotels.co.uk, but we think of it as Real People having Real Fun!

I am planning a trip to London from Edinburgh. The home office has my passport, as I am trying to obtain a tier 1 visa. Do I need a passport to travel on a plane from Edinburgh to London? I assumed I only needed a picture ID, but I recall in an episode of Airport a man being very angry because he needed a passport to fly between Scotland and England. I wasn’t sure if this was because he just needed some form of photo ID or actually needed a passport.
Thanks for your help!

I want to go to Ireland next year, but I don’t know where to start with the planing. And I don’t know what places I should go and see and which would be the best way of getting to those places. The reason why I want to go to Ireland is because my family is from there, but I have no living relatives there. I have a $2,500 budget including airfare. And if you know any deals with rental car, hotel, and airfare PLEASE TELL ME!!
