I will be over in May, luckily for me, i have a lot of friends in England, who will be accomodating me. Im on a tighter budget than i had hoped originally when i planned the trip (im not sure exactly how much money yet, not until im ready to go anyway).
So please tell me the cheapest way of seeing some of scotland and some of Ireland and i will be content to take the cheapest options!

We are wanting to tour Hever Castle and Windsor castle while in England. I can not find a map to see the distance between the two to see if its even possible. Is London close by? Where would be the best place to stay?

My friends and I are Americans saving up money for a trip to Scotland and we’re planning on staying in Glasgow for a few days. We are all in our early-20s and we’d love to make some new friends along the way! Which pubs should we definitely visit? Thanks

Or…should I do canterbury and cliffs of dover and then stay over and see leeds castle on the way back to London the next day?

I am a Sri Lankan student reading for masters in Ireland. I am planning to bring my wife here for 3 months on a visit/tourist visa. I would be very much grateful to you if you can give me a rough estimate of the amount that we have to show in (either my or her) bank account statements in order to obtain visa? A rough estimate would suffice with a little explanation if possible. Thank you.

I am visiting Glasgow for 5 days in October. What sites should I visit. I love historical places, museums, etc.

Any great restaurants for authentic Scottish food that isn’t too pricy?

Good bars?

etc.

Looking for a safe, nice place for a couple of people who have never been to Ireland before. Any information you could provide about areas to go to or areas to avoid would be appreciated!

Something that’s not too expensive?
I’m planning a family day out. Mostly adults and would like to visit something historical but beautiful at the same time.

Something with the antique look.
I’ve been to Heaton Hall in Heaton park but I would like something a lot more grand than that.

Also if it’s close to the north west then that would be an advantage.
Thank you.

Situated on the South West of Scotland Argyll is a scenic and picturesque part of Scotland that should not be missed. To get there you can fly from Glasgow Airport, travelling by road from Glasgow it will take you around 1.5 hours travelling time. Following the M8 to Gourock, to get to Dunoon itself you have to board a ferry for a 20 minute boat trip across, if you suffer from sea sickness or prefer to take a more scenic route then head towards Loch Lomond National Park and then follow directions to Dunoon.

Dunoon itself is a small resort town situated on the Cowall Penisula, and beside the Firth of Clyde. Argyll itself comprises the entire western seaboard between the Mull of Kintyre and Cape Wrath, towns within the Argyll area include Oban, Campbeltown, Dunoon and Inveraray.

There are many things to do in the Dunoon area, including the Holy Loch which during the Cold War was accosted by the US Navy and became a primary base for their submarine squadron. If you are interested in botany then there are several botanic gardens in the nearby area including the Benmore Botanic Gardens, of other interest in the Dunoon vicinity is Ardkinglas Woodland Garden, Castle House Museum and Morag’s Fairy Glen.

Those looking to sample the local food and drink should visit Fyne Ale Brewers; whom were voted the SIBA Champion Premium Ale of Scotland and SIBA Champion Bitter of Scotland in 2002. The area has a wide selection of family friendly hotels that offer the traditional Scottish hospitality and the delicious cuisine.

If you are visiting Argyll be sure to visit one of the best hotel in Scotland, the Osborne Hotel.
