In 1992, Rory Gibson and Andrew Johnston set out to climb 277 Scottish mountains known as the Munros, in less than 50 days. (Munro is the name given to all Scottish mountains over 3000 feet high, named after Sir Hugh Munro who catalogued them). This documentary follows their attempt to create a new record for ‘bagging’ all of Scotland’s Munros. Some people take a lifetime to climb them all but Roy Gibson and Andrew Johnston have given themselves 50 days. They are supremely fit, having trained in the Himalayas before tackling this Challenge. Their route takes them from Ben Nevis to Ben Hope via Loch Lomond, Mull, the Cairngorms, the Isle of Skye and the Torridons. Will they succeed?

Just a wee correction to the Intro blurb, yes the tv docu was shown in 1993, however Andrew & Rory set the record in the summer of 1992.
Have to say that this was the film that I watched many many many times and gave me the inspiration to have a go at the record, which after several years of mega planning, never mind physically training, came true in the summer of 2000 with a self-propelled time of 48.5 days for the Munros. All thanks to Rory & Andrew for igniting the dream!
